Conditions of Membership

  • The Croydon Mountaineering Club is not a training organization and members helping other members to climb or to carry out any other mountaineering activity, do not necessarily hold any formal certificates or First Aid qualifications.
  • Members join on the premise that they are in agreement with the interests of the Club and agree to be bound by its constitution and help to maintain its objectives.
  • Members should be aware of and accept that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a risk of personal injury or death. Members should be aware of and accept these risks and wish to participate in these activities voluntarily and shall be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
  • The Croydon Mountaineering Club committee reserves the right to accept or decline applications, or to revoke membership.
  • Members and Next of Kin / Emergency contact details will be recorded in the BMC’s secure club portal
  • Members must provide details of any medical conditions that they feel the Club should be aware of, such as epilepsy or penicillin allergies. This information is only for the benefit of the Club’s Committee and Meet Leaders and will not be divulged to other members. However, anyone with potentially serious medical conditions are advised to inform those they participate in activities with.
